The year2004witnessed a wide curriculum reform of senior high school in China, which aims to enhance students’ overall quality. Shaanxi province has also implemented the reform from2007. In order to have a deep understanding of students’ overall quality in ordinary senior high school after the new curriculum reform, this paper, taking the examples of some senior high schools in the north, south and central Shaanxi province, reveals the present conditions of students’overall quality in senior high school by the methods of interview, questionnaire and statistics, analyzes the existing problems and provides several solutions and suggestions.This paper uses methods of research in education such as Archival Research, Questionnaire and Interview to study students’overall quality in ordinary senior high school in Shaanxi. The whole paper can be divided into five parts.Part1:An introduction of the problems. Introduce the problems, present conditions and some core definitions.Part2:An introduction of the relative theories. Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Theory of Human’s Comprehensive Development, Humanism and Educational Ideas in the New Curriculum Reform are discussed.Part3:Summary on standard of making the questionnaire and choice of the research objects.Part4:Demonstrations of the research. Analyze the achievements and existing problems on evaluation of students’overall quality in ordinary senior high school.Part5:Reasons and solutions on students’lack of overall quality in Shaanxi Senior High School. This part is the focus of the whole paper. Based on the analysis of theories and investigations, this part puts forward some suggestions on existing problems of students’ overall quality in Shaanxi Senior High School, aiming to provide references to the teachers and experts.Through the study, these reasons lead to the present situation of student’overall quality in ordinary senior high school.(1) The concept of teacher education is lagging behind and is not well understood the idea of a New Curriculum Reform. (2) Family education environment affect students’civic duty.(3) Students’special psychological characteristics in ordinary senior high school have the negative effects on Mental Health.(4) Schools deprived students of Aesthetic Education under the Academic pressure.For these reasons, I put forward some suggestions for improving student’overall quality in ordinary senior high school.(1) Teacher lead to change the concept of education, and practice the educational philosophy of the new curriculum reform.(2) School help family to improve the quality of family education.(3) School lead to strengthen the mental health education to promote students’ mental health.(4) School lead to emphasis on aesthetic education.
