Achievement test is an important assessment of general senior high schools in our country. It is a criterion-referenced test supervised by the national government with national curriculum standard as test content, which procedures are a matter for each province decision to checking the levels of achievement of general senior high schools students. As achievement test for general senior high schools is just beginning in our country, we must be faced with many difficult problems in the specific course of implementing inevitably. Referring foreign ripe implementation experience in achievement test has practical significance to improve on our achievement test examination system for general senior high schools. The modularized curriculum in Victorian senior high schools of Australia is the same as our country, but Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) examination system has passed a long-term development, and has formed a mature evaluation mechanism which had realized the organic combination of summative assessment and formative assessment. On the one hand, the evaluation mechanism in Australian could either promote students' common development such as scientific literacy or personality development. On the other hand, it could either ensure the high level education quality or provide reference to selection for colleges. In this thesis, we compared and researched the Australian VCE test and our country achievement test for general senior high schools, hoping to improve and perfect our achievement test examination system for general senior high schools.In chapter 1, we review and summarize the development situation and research status of achievement tests at home and abroad based on processing and analysis related literatures. We found that the achievement tests for general senior high schools in our country and advanced countries have the same characters and function, but in contrast, achievement test of our country still exist some defects on examination system and evaluation means. Hence, it is quite necessary to learn foreign ripe implementation experience in achievement test from advanced countries to improve the achievement test of our country.In chapter 2, taking chemistry subject as an example, beginning with the reference standard of achievement test—curriculum standard, we compared the general senior high school curriculum standards of our country with the and found that they are similar in curriculum ideas, aims, structure, content and assessment. So, it is possible that through comparing and researching the VCE test of Australia and achievement test of our country to get useful experience.Then, in chapter 3 and 4, we analyzed the Shaanxi province general senior high schools achievement test of chemistry and VCE chemistry test respectively. On the basic of chapter 3 and 4, chapter 5 compared the two tests. Research shows that the excellent performance in selecting materials and examination questions design of VCE test give us profound inspiration in general senior high schools achievement test. Otherwise, performance assessments of VCE test are completed in the process of module teaching, and the assessments could overall evaluate students' scientific moral views, inquiry ability, knowledge application ability and communication ability, which offers valuable experiences to improve our achievement tests.The last chapter summarized this research work, and get four implications: (1) establish students' evaluation system which combined summative assessment with formative assessment to promoting students overall development; (2) select exam questions materials carefully, and pay attention to the openness, context and comprehensiveness of questions; (3) assess experiment with formative assessment, and emphasize on evaluating students' inquiry ability; (4) constitute the quality assurance system for evaluation results, and insure the fairness of assessment.The innovative works include:(1) It is an international comparative study for the first time to find out the weak components of achievement test in our country, which lies in the lack of processing evaluation in chemistry experimental exam.(2) Absorbing advanced experience from performance assessments of VCE test, the chemistry experimental exam system of the achievement test of our country was presented.
