The era of information led the information technology reformation of the field of education to improve. E-learning has been instroduced into China more than ten years. Although the use of e-learning in educational reformation has made some achievements, there are many problems in the process of college education information, for example, constructed the digital resources repeatly and didn’t make use of it, and led to the situation of the investment more, income less in terms of informatization construction. The mostly reason is the duplication of investment in case of a serious lack of funding for higher education e-learning, not only because the very little economic benefits, but the teaching effect is not ideal. The most typical example is the Quality Courses in colleges, the number of their development is large, but the use of them is really less. And then the situation of the high investment and low return is appeared. This research will propose a tool whose name is e-learning ROI for college, and it will be used to help the leading of e-learnig make choice.This paper will research the mathematical model of the colleges e-learning ROI from two aspects:First, for the the return rate of economic aspect, it will analysis the totally cost of the e-learning course through the whole process from development to run, and compare the cost of e-learning coure with the cost of traditional course, finaly we will find the cost of e-learning coure and calculate the return on investment (ROI). Secondly, for the aspect of teaching effectiveness benefits, we collect the real data from the literature review and questionnaire in e-learning and use the multi-factor linear regression analysis method to find the coefficient which impact on learning satisfaction from the students’characteristics and the characteristics of the course content and the features of course platform, finally, we constructed a mathematical model about the study satisfaction with the3D influencing factors. At lost, we build the total model of the e-learning, and use the e-learning course which is devepled by Yangzte Noraml Universtiy to verify the the correctness and effectiveness of the model. Finally, the experiment proved that the model is effective.
