Abstract: Although there are quite a few of researches about children’s verbal expression all over the world, most of these studies are still fundamental and Phychology traditional. And they are studied in the experimental circumstances. But it rarely assesses children’s oral English ability in the rich social contexts or from many aspects. In addition, teachers and parents always have a general and vague evaluation trend to children’s oral English ability. What’s more, in the kindergarten, language teaching activities for children carried out are not based on judging the children’s oral language adequately and deeply.So it is worth considering the evaluation methods and these language teaching activities can improve the children’s communication skills or not.In this study, the storyboard and Weekend News activities in Project Spectrum were used to collect30children’s language samples aged at4to6.And interviewing the teachers to collect the results of their evaluating30children’ oral expressive ability. Secondly, according to the evaluation standards of storyboard and Weekend News activities, it will achieve a testing result through analyzing30children’s oral material and evaluating the children’s oral expressive ability, and then compare the testing result with the evaluating result. Next show the comparing results to the teachers and interview them. Finally it compares the two times’ interview material.The research results:1. the virtuality oral expression ability in storyboard activity of different age children raises as the children’s age growing; and the descriptive oral ability of children aged5and6are almost the same; but the scores of children aged at4are relatively lower.2. In the same activity, the language characteristic development of children who are in the different age exists huge discrepancy.3. The same child’s language ability in virtuality descriptive language is higher than that in description descriptive language.4. There is huge discrepancy between teachers’ evaluation result and testing result, which is: children who are divided into different oral level groups get the same score in the test, however they have different characteristics in the ever linguistic factors’ development.On the base of the research conclusion, the outher proposes some relative and practical education suggestion and tactics which can help raise the children’s oral ability as well as some deep thought about this research.
