Course content is the center of Chinese teaching, which is the basic for improving students’Chinese accomplishments. Textbook, which is the carrier of the course content, is the evidence of Chinese teaching. Literary works accounted for half of all the Chinese textbooks in the current times, novels play the most important role in the whole literary works, because it possesses the features of both diversity and uncertainty of literature. Besides, the novels in the textbooks are the models of language for the students’studying, although the interpretation of novels can be diverse and from different ways, the course content of the novels in the textbooks should be stationary. Such as which elements should be taught, which skills should be learned, etc. The knowledge and skills of Chinese ought to be consistent in the same grade, so does the Chinese course content. However, the reality is not the same way through the analysis of some different versions of Chinese textbooks. This paper took the RenJiao edition textbook and Chinese edition textbook for examples, took the novel units as the starting point to compare the similarities and differences of these two editions of Chinese textbooks, especially the course content of the novel units, aiming at pointing out the differences of course content, perfecting the high schools’Chinese textbooks’course content of novel units and help to expand the teaching contents of Chinese teaching in senior high school.This paper consists of four parts except the introduction part. The contents in the introduction part are the significance of this topic, the current situation of the research about this topic, the aim of this topic and the research methods. Then we first interpreted curriculum standards of the senior high schools’Chinese teaching, after the analysis of the curriculum standards, indicated the course contents of the novel units; Second, it specifically analyzed the course content of the six units of novels in these two edition of Chinese textbooks, and categorized the content into two tables; in the third part, this paper compared the two tables, pointed out the similarities and differences of these two editions of Chinese textbooks and then analyzed each edition in details, compared this result to the curriculum standards of the senior high schools’ Chinese teaching. In the last part, it made a summary of this research and put forward the reflection and suggestions.
