Cultivating citizens with core values of socialism is an important goal and task of compulsory education in contemporary China,and it also puts forward new requirements for the reform of the history curriculum in the compulsory education.The history curriculum of junior high school,as an important part of basic education in the compulsory education,plays an important role in improving students' humanistic quality.The junior high school history textbook,as the most basic and crucial teaching resource of school history education,is an important tool for carrying out history teaching activities.With the promulgation of the 2011 “Compulsory Education History Curriculum Standard”,the junior high school history textbooks were categorized into a unified stage of compilation and revision managed by Ministry of Education in 2012.In the fall of 2017,the national textbook "Chinese History" began to be used,and the “World History” textbook compiled uniformly by the Ministry of Education was put into use in the fall of2018,before which the textbook "World History" of version 2007 was most widely used through the nation.A comparative study of the PEP version of history textbooks of World History in 2007 and 2018 is conducive to filling up the research gaps of thenew textbooks timely,so as to explore the development and changes of the compilation of history textbook,and also to help the new textbooks be used in realistic teaching activities.Therefore,this article takes the ancient history of the world as an example,uses the literature analysis method and the comparative research method to explore the similarities and differences between the 2007 and 2018 junior high school history textbooks,and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the two textbooks.As a result,some suggestions on the preparation of the new version of the junior high school textbook "World History" and suggestions on the use of teachers will be put forward.Firstly,this article compares and analyzes the junior high school history textbooks in 2007 and 2018 from the aspects of compilation standards and compilation methods.Secondly,this article compares and analyzes the similarities and differences of this two version history textbooks in terms of content selection,content layout,narration and evaluation.Then,this article compares and analyzes the text-assisted system of the ancient history of the PEP version in 2007 and 2018 from three aspects: the pre-learning guidance system,the in-class interpretation system,and the after-school consolidation andexpansion system.Finally,this paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the history textbooks of the junior high school textbooks in 2007 and 2018,and based on this,puts forward some suggestions for the preparation of a new version of the junior high school textbook "World History" and suggestions for teachers' use.
