| In recent years, with the development of economy and society, the constant adjustments of industrial structure and the increasing improvements of vocational education policies in China, higher vocational education has developed rapidly as well. As one typical vocational and technical college, LD Vocational and Technical College has seized opportunities and achieved great progress, but meanwhile it meets great challenges and fierce competition from domestic ordinary institutions of higher education, other higher vocational colleges as well as the increasingly developing private vocational colleges. Therefore, it’s imperative to implement strategic management to seek effective development by the breakthrough of its traditional management methods and models.In the view of the former universe background, this thesis takes the basic theory of strategy management as its research foundation and applies theories into practice. Using Potter’s Five Force Model, PEST and SWOT methods as analysis tools effectively, it analyzes the college’s current situation, internal and external environment comprehensively. What’s more, it compares LD Vocational and Technical College with its major competitors and introduces successful experience of domestic and foreign higher vocational education. Meanwhile, it considers for the perspective of market demands, industry competition and the college’s individual ability for running a college comprehensively. On the basis of the former points, it sums up advantages and disadvantages as well as opportunities and threats in the process of its development. As a result, some scientific, feasible strategies and practical measures are made for the further development of LD Vocational and Technical College.This research will play a guiding role for the development of LD Vocational and Technical College in the future and provides some valuable reference suggestions for other vocational colleges. |
