It has been less than ten years for the fast development of higher vocational education in our country which now is an important constituent of our higher education. In the early stage of development, there was a public concern about the awkward situation of the graduates of higher vocational colleges, which was the result of the lack of educational resources, the ambiguity of school-running ideology and the state of social psychology. By the SWOT method, this article forecast and analyses the future employment status of higher vocational graduates, the analysis is made on the basis of the current employment status, meanwhile the article makes a comparative study of the current status of higher vocational education and graduates employment status in foreign countries. According to the key element of graduates employment, the graduates competitiveness in the job market, this article discussed the constitution of employment competitiveness and the educate way of college. In analysis this article decomposes the graduates employment competitiveness into six modules: moral quality, intellectual quality, basic skills, special skills, professionalism, body and mind accomplishment, on this basis the article designs higher vocational talents cultivation model which is demonstrated by the case study.According to the actual development of higher vocational education in our country, the article proposes strategic measures to develop employment competitiveness, focusing on the cultivation of employment competitiveness and pointing out the specific strategy goal, which is to cultivate graduates employment competitiveness so as for millions of higher vocational graduates to be employed as successfully and completely as possible, and thus the employment brand of higher vocational graduates is gradually formed. As the employment quality is improved and the students and social satisfaction is increasingly met, the distinguishing status of higher vocational graduates will be established.To guarantee to the strategy implementation, this article puts forward the strategic safeguard measures: firstly, to make clear school-running ideology and establish scientific higher vocational talent cultivation goal; secondly, to uphold market orientation, scientifically set courses and establish theoretical and practical teaching systems in accordance with the cultivation goal; thirdly, to actively promote the combination of enterprise production and college research and establish the cultivation model of higher quality vocational talents through the cooperation between college and enterprise; fourthly, to establish a team of teachers of double profession quality; fifthly, to seriously carry out profession guidance and social practice activities; sixthly, to establish the perfect management operational mechanism and the encourage mechanism for enhancing the comprehensive management quality of the management team.
