| The International Board of Education of the21st century submitted to a report to UNESCO that learning to cooperate should be regarded as one of the four pillars of the21st century. The report emphasizes that "education should set aside sufficient time and opportunity in its programs to young people to teach this kind of cooperation projects." Therefore, in school education, stimulating the motivation of the students’cooperation and fostering cooperation with others has become requirements for schools in an era of progressive and social development. And it will also become an important subject for educators to continue exploring.This paper defines the concepts of cooperative learning, high school arts students and teaching styles, and it gives a literature review on cooperative learning at home and abroad, its development and its theoretical basis. The writer has found that cooperative learning is widely used as a strategy system and teaching theory of rich creativity and effectiveness in many countries in the world. Cooperative learning has a history of development and research for decades, and its practice spreads around many countries and regions in the world. In this paper, based on the analysis of the psychological characteristics of the high school arts students and learning ability of mathematics learning, six teaching strategies and three teaching styles are put forward to carry out cooperative learning in mathematics teaching in high school. The writer has chosen two liberal arts classes in a key high school as the test objects, and drew conclusions by means of teaching observation, questionnaires, interviews, testing and other methods of empirical research. Forms of cooperative learning are new and varied, which give students a pleasant atmosphere to learn. The students can be inspired by each other in the group learning process, help each other for the honor of the group and make the joint efforts. This helps students not only learn knowledge but also experience success. During this process, students’self-confidence would be enhanced, thereby interest in mathematics learning and motivation to learn are greatly improved. Cooperative learning fits in with the idea of the new curriculum reform. It has changed the learning styles which emphasized on students’accepted way of learning too much in the past. Through students’ cooperation and exchanging, completing the learning task and meaning construction, cooperative learning is a reflection of independent learning, and it has played a significant role in promoting students’mathematics achievement. Cooperative learning in teaching mathematics tallies with the development of the times and progress in society. In process of the group work, students have not only learned knowledge to improve the results, but also appreciated the fun and significance of the cooperation with others, which will help to develop a good mood and emotion, contribute to the mastery of skills of cooperation, and develop awareness of cooperation. Finally, the paper gives reflection and prospect to the practice of cooperative learning. |
