Abstract/Summary:
On the one hand we can taste the abundance and prosperity brought by real material life in thismaterial-oriented society. While on the other, we feel more and more helpless and desolated in our mentalworld under the social situation with high technology, high efficiency, and fiercing competition. We aresearching for an outlet, meanwhile we are craving for beautiful relationship between one and another,that is,understanding, caring, assistant and trustful.Caring education theory began to make great influence on the international world after1970s, amongwhich caring theory of moral education proposed by Nel Noddings was crowned as the main representative.Noddings’s theory advocates the caring for ourselves, for those who live around us, who are strangers andwho live far from us, for animals, plants and the earth, for knowledge and for the world that human create.School is one of the places where conduct moral education, and cultivating students with caring ability isaccorded with the standard of morality and is encouraged by the ability-oriented education and the newcurriculum reform. As our education is placed in a system of examination-oriented education for a longtime, even though it is proposed the idea of ability-oriented education and our theories of education have acertain meaning, there is no conception of integration systematically. And in the teaching practice, subjectteaching still takes the leading position and the caring relation is difficult to be built naturally. Therefore,the application of caring education theory is very significant and precious in our country.The first part elaborates the background and theoretical basis of Noddings’s caring theory of moraleducation and analyses its content and meaning. The theory emphasizes that "response is the core of caringand the core of caring education as well" and highlights the bilaterality built by the both sides caring andthe interchange of roles. The second part mainly explains the teaching methods and the particularity in thecourse of ideological and political education in our junior high school and problems caused by during theprocess of teaching. Furthermore it analyses the causes of the problems and points out the necessity andimportance of weakening the view of teacher occupation. The third part employs Noddings’s caringeducation theory to give a guidance to the teaching methods of the course of ideological and politicaleducation in junior high school from the micro level and to offer a theoretical inspiration from the macrolevel. When we care for students, we should put attention to the power of language and the role of example, cultivate students’ intuitive manner and create joyful teaching environment. Finally with the combination topractice students in high grades are permitted to participate in the exercise of lower grades.
