The city also by the simple pursuit of GDP to enhance city competitiveness. sports events as a core sub-industry of the sports industry, its unique features to promote economic development, sporting events brought a lot of impact for the city.In this paper, literature research, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. Involved in the design of the questionnaire using the Likert5scale as a research tool to the enclosed questionnaire, developed two questionnaires for managers and scholars and residents, sports events to promote the mechanism of the specific factor in city competitiveness through questionnaire evaluation。 Through interviews, sports events information and city competitiveness factors, material, and empirical research. SPSS19.0statistical software to obtain information descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis of the mechanism of the sports events affecting urban competitiveness, and to come to sports events influence the three dimensions of urban competitiveness. The results showed that:1.Determine the city competitiveness definition. Through literature study and sum up its connotation and extension, this study refines city competitiveness is defined in the two questionnaire survey process, the definition of the recognition rate is very high, this study refines the concept with high accuracy.2.In the scale of the production process of reference and summarizes previous research, based on expert interviews and summarizes23factors, production of sports to promote city competitiveness mechanism scale. The23factor is:to enhance the government administrative ability, promote city to city infrastructure construction, promote the city to improve city environment, promoting the city coordinated economic and social development, improve the service consciousness of the government, promote a city image, increase the city, increase the exposure rate of city and city exchange opportunities, increase city reputation, pull move economic growth, contribute to the introduction of foreign investment, to help the city to improve the industrial structure, enlarge obtain employment, expand inside need, help the transition of city development, to attract tourism, promote the development of related industries, promote a city culture, improve the quality of residents, improve residents’ fitness enthusiasm,promote a city resident well-being.3.Through questionnaire investigation, using factor analysis on scale of all twenty-three factors by factor analysis, after inspection the KOM values are greater than0.7and close to1, the factors which have significance analysis. In the back of the factor analysis in the process through the spiral matrix analysis of the sports events on the city competitive power mechanism of the three component, combined with the theory of the three component summed up the sports events on the city competitive mechanisms for the three effects, and according to the contribution in order are:the brand effect, economic effect, culture effect.4. According to the analysis and for different populations of sports and city competitiveness survey. This study presents sports and city competitiveness and the correlation between, namely the interaction between them, mutual promotion. On the basis of this study summarized sports events on the city competitiveness of three-dimensional force model.5.
