The Research On The Coupling Coordination Degree Between The Population Structure And Economic Development In Hunan Province

The core issue of China’s population of21century can be attributedto population structure. Through family planning policy, the performance ofpopulation transformation was showed as: large population, low level of development,fast speed and short time.This change would affect the balanced coordinationdevelopment of the population structure. In the context of sustainable developmentconcept, the balanced development of population structure has an impact on theregion economic development. The region economic development also affects theregion population structure. They are interactional to each other.This article analysis the development status of the population structure in HunanProvince, and finds that the level of overall status of the population structure inHunan is not high, there are significant differences in the development of regionalpopulation structure. Then it builds a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation modelof population structure to evaluate the balanced development of the populationstructure in Hunan with the time series data of Hunan province from1995to2010andthe cross-section data of the cities in Hunan in the year of2010.The results show thatthe balanced development of population structure in Hunan Province is in a lowerlevel, which is in the primary equilibrium stage. The balanced development ofpopulation structure in Changsha and Zhuzhou belong to the intermediate stage, andthe rest of cities in Hunan belong to the initial equilibrium stage of populationstructure. Furthermore, with the help of coupling function in physics, constructs thecoupling coordinative calculation model between population structure and economicdevelopment. It makes an empirical study, taking Hunan province and the cities inHunan as an example.The result finds that coupling coordinative degree of populationstructure and economic development show a significant stage characteristics andcontinuously increases, from primary coordination to well coordination during1995-2010. Meantime, the coupling coordinative degree of population structure andeconomic development of the14prefecture-level cities in Hunan province show asignificant regional differences and the type of the development of coordination are inserious polarization. Finally, according to the results of the preceding analysis, it putsforward some suggestions on the promotion of the balanced development ofpopulation structure and economic development.
