Study On Application Of The College Social Capital On The Employment Of College Graduates

Recent years,college graduates have being confronted with serious employmentsituation accompanying the on-going increase enrollment and the increase ofuniversity graduate year by year. To direct at the society issue that it is hard forcollege graduate to get employment, the academic circles have analysed the reasonsthat influence the employment of the university graduates from diverse point of view.the majority of the pre-existing research have focused on the economicdevelopment,the supply-demand relationship of careers fair, human capital and thesocial capital of the individual graduation. This study,based on the theory of socialcapital, beginning with the college social capital, investigates the impact and effectionthat the college social capital imposes on the college graduates employment and thecurrent situation of the application of college social capital, expecting to put forwardsome valuable countermeasure and suggestion on the employment of the presentcollege graduates.At first,this research has trimed and summed up and the theories about socialcapital home and abroad,as well as the relationship between the employment and thesocial capital, discussed the application of the college social capital to the collegegraduates employment on three dimensions: including dimension of dimension ofopportunity, capture employment opportunity; dimension of quality,enhance thequality of employment; dimension of cost, lower the trade cost between the supplierand demander. In the second place, with an interviewing method,we have deeplyinterviewed three groups, which include college graduates, the staffs who tutor thegraduates to get employed, the recruiter working for the employing unit, and analysedthe current situation of the application and the accumulation of college socialcapital, to find some problems: there are not a correct understanding of college socialcapital;there are structural irrationality of the college social capital which the collegestudent can apply;the college social capital depends on government excessively and islack of lateral ties,at the same time, there are deficiency of the internal college socialcapital. Finally, we come up with some policy proposals combining the conclusionswe got above:fistly,improve understanding and set up correct concept of socialcapital;secondly,optimize structure,to secure the college social capital;thirdly,expandthe horizontal ties,widen the college social capital;forthly.enhance information communication and management,concentrate the internal college social capital;thelast,improve our employment guidance and services,and guide the undergraduates touse the college social capital properly.
