After several years of hard work and development, school social work in the western area has achieved a lot. There still appears to be many problems required to be solved, such as unsound policy, imperfect system, low degree of public acceptance, lack of schools’ cooperation, which has a disadvantage over the overall spread of the social work of schools in the western area.Through the methods of social role theory, social-ecological systems theory, social learning theory, documentary method, interview, comparison, the initial discussion has been conducted in terms of the development status, existing problems, and predicament of schools’ social work in the western area. In the meantime, it also nuts forward several solutions to improve the relevant policies, raise public recognition, push organic integration of schools and social work and improve workers’ ability, in order to promote the sound development of the social work of the schools in Western area China.
