The political aspiration in Modern China is the pursuit of national independence and self-improvement. From the start that Zhang Zhidong introduced the policy of absorbing western technology, far-sighted people began the journey to resist against the enemies by making use of the western technology and culture, although the sport has been introduced to China by missionary means, but it was not until the rise of the military national ideology that people concerned about, the end of the Qing Dynasty,1880, the military national education ideology sprouted, sports as the content of education of military training has been partly implemented at that time. This article researched in the starting point that Chinese people attached importance to sports, to the debate of Martial Arts and Sports in1937, and go to merge together in the end. Chose this period for the reason that Modern Chinese society and politics had typically impact in sports in1880to1937,due to imperialist aggressions in this period, Chinese people save their nation by sports, or make use of sports as a revolutionary tool to overthrow the feudal rule. This period of modern China political activities, including the implementation of the Army of National Education, the Revolution of1911, the debate of martial arts and sports and the New Culture Movement, western sports has been passed in this series of political activities and under great importance, and has been advocated as a "develop and protect county" tool or revolutionary tool. Because of this political aspiration, sports can be developed in a curve and slow way.during this period each event that will threat to the political domination, gave the sport opportunities to develop in China:after the Jiawu war to advocate the Army National Sports, a lot of sporting events introduced into China; reformers in order to change the law to promote the "warrior"," develop and protect county "; bourgeois revolutionaries in order to overthrow the feudal rule of the Qing government to promote the Army National Sports; accompany by the war, the YMCA took the new climate to the development of modern Chinese sports; for the debate of the martial arts and sports, modern sports training methods were driven to the traditional martial arts to mass popularization; New Culture Movement explored the nature of sports sports as a part of education quickened the modernization of Chinese school education; at the end, sports, this foreign culture had a large power to further the modern Chinese democratization, to drive the political reforms of the modern China.
