The Story Of A "3S Lady"

Love and marriage are important content of a person’s life. It not only shows one’s pursuit of a happy life and bearing family responsibilities, but also relates to social harmony and stability. As the changes of the times, more and more girls don’t want to be married. These "3s ladies" or leftover ladies become a unique group and a special social phenomenon, arousing wide attention. With all kinds of media’s publicity, the phenomenon arise people’s concerns.On the basis of existing research, from the perspective of sociological and anthropological theory, and by means of case study and literature research, this paper gives a detailed description of a3s lady’s life, demonstrates her growing experience and explores influences on her mate selection from family surrcumstances, individual personality, domestic education, love experience, values and lifestyles. On top of it, the author tempts to find out impact from social transformation and cultural changes on her mate choosing method. The author hopes to understand her true needs and feelings through multi-demensional interaction, and eliminate misunderstandings of "3s ladies".The article is divided into five sections. The first chapter instructs the significance of the article and research method. The second chapter summarizes the characteristics of "3s ladies" from the perspectives of geographic distribution, family background and incomes, and directs readers to the lady’s growing phases through deep interview with herself, family and friends. In the third chapter, the author discusses the changes of women’s mate choosing views. The fourth chapter presents social, cultural, domestic and individual reasons of the formation of the "3s ladies". Chapter five is the conclusion of the article.
