In history,Lancheng, which was a small town of Lan county inShanxi province ,is next to the strong nomadic minorities in north andwas regarded as an important border defense town . Due to frequentwars here, the local people formed martial arts ethos and martialspirit. Besides, they also believed Chinese Spirit associated with wars.Lancheng, the political and cultural central in old, had a long historyfor thousands of years. The magnificent ancient city walls were builtin dynasty of Song, Sui and Ming. The ruins still exist so far. It was itsspecial strategic position that made it a place which the centralgovernment attempted to control completely. Admittedly, theadvocate of Confucianism and permeability of official religion hadbecome inevitable. Lancheng’s Buddhism goodness Guanyin beliefwas syncretism of three religions, Confucianism, Buddhism, andTaoism, and it emerged on the background of“civil-militarysimultaneously”. In recent years, its special Buddhism goodnessGuanyin belief and 100 meters of the strip for the sacrificial ceremonyattract more and more attention. This paper is based on the relativelycomprehensive description and analysis between its belief and ritualsto explore gradually their effect on the construction of the village order and performance.The full paper can be divided into introduction, main body, andconclusion three parts.The main part includes four chapters.The first chapter mainly makes a simple introduction aboutnatural geographical environment and humanistic and historicalspace, which are the cause of generating sacrificial ceremony.In the second chapter, after making some statements onBuddhism goodness Guanyin belief in history, I focus on the featureson“syncretism of three religions”. Confucianism Xiaogan culture hasa great influence on original legend of Guanyin belief, while desiringchildren, which is considered as one of the clergies to admire Guanyinin local, has various connections with the idea“rebirth”and“children”. The position of Guanyin, environmental hierarchy andenlightenment, charm used for desiring children, thin bamboo sticks,all of them are the results of the combination of Taoism. In addition,the changes of temple where Guanyin live also is closely linked withLancheng’s rich history and culture.In the third chapter, I describes in detail some ceremonies named“inviting god”,”roaming god”, and“sacrificing god”. Meantime, I paymore attention to describe and analysis changeable ceremonies froma diachronic perspective.In the fourth chapter, I further elaborate what belief of sacrificialceremony and rituals engenders some influences in some way tosocial order construction and performance. What’s more, structuralrelationship is ritualistically to be presented between the villagersand the village deities, the villagers and villagers, the village and the village.The introduction includes the research object of this paper, thepurpose and significance of topics, literature review, data sourcesand study method. The conclusion of this paper points out thatLancheng for cultural beliefs indicate the local people’s supernaturalpower in constructing and understanding, and it plays an importantrole in production and life. While the ritualistic exhibition process isactually the establishment and affirmation to the rural social orderand universal natural order.
