The purpose of the essay can be divided into two parts. The first part is that in theory, itcould enrich the research on job burnout, especially on English teachers’ burnout in senior highschools. The last part analyzes the reasons and finds out the solution according to the job burnoutof English teachers in senior high schools. I want to reduce these teachers’ burnout and improvestudents’ English.In the essay, I have used some documents, the questionnaire survey and the interviewingmethod. Having researched158English teachers who are teaching in Jinxiang Town’s and JuTown’ senior high schools, I found that there was much or little job burnout among them.Because of their different sex, age and school age, they have different job burnouts. In ordinarysenior high schools, the teachers have much severer job burnout in general, emotionalexhaustion and depersonalization. Female teachers have severe job burnout in emotionalexhaustion. In every aspect, the teachers who are masters have the least job burnout comparedwith others; in general, diminished personal accomplishment and health, the teachers who arebachelors have the most job burnout compared with others; in emotional exhaustion,depersonalization, diminished efficiency, the teachers who were college students have the mostjob burnout. In general, emotional exhaustion and diminished personal accomplishment, themiddle-level teachers have the most job burnout. In depersonalization and health, the authorizedsenior teachers have the most job burnout. In diminished efficiency, other teachers have the mostjob burnout. In general, depersonalization diminished personal accomplishment and diminishedefficiency, the teachers who have taught between16and20years have the severest job burnout;in emotional exhaustion, the teachers who have taught between11and15years have the severestjob burnout; in health, the teachers who have taught more than20years have the severest jobburnout. In every aspect, the teachers who teach in grade three have the least burnout; indepersonalization and diminished personal accomplishment, the teachers who teach in grade onehave the most burnout; in other aspects, the teachers who teach in grade two have the mostburnout. In every aspect, ordinary teachers have more job burnout than headmasters.The essay is related to the character of English teachers in senior high schools. It analyzedthe reasons of job burnout from four aspects, which are individual, student, organization andsociety. And the solution is included in the essay. From writing the essay, I hope the job burnoutof English teachers in senior high schools can be reduced and students’ enthusiasm could bemobilized. I believe the students could make much progress in English.
