| History after-class reading forms an important part of history education in middle school. Extensive and beneficial history after-class reading can not only stimulate the students’interest in history learning, but also improve the students’abilities and achievements in history learning. Furthermore, since history is one subject of Liberal Arts, it plays a positive role in improving the students’humanity attainment and promoting the healthy development of their mind.Taking the No.2Middle School of Qingdao Economical and Technical Development Zone as an example, this paper has made elaborate research about the current conditions of history after-class reading among middle school students, found out seveal problems:1) The students have small quntity of afterclass reading and meanwhile do not have adequate time for afterclass reading;2) Students do not take afterclass reading seriously and pay too much attention on recreational materials;3) The utilitarianism in teaching makes teachers neglect the importance of afterclass reading;4) The schools do not play its role of guiding fully;5) Family education does not make beneficial cooperation with afterclass reading of students. In light of the above questions, this paper puts forward the integrated solution comprising of stimulation, intensification and perfection. Firstly, stimulate the interest of students in history learning and afterclass reading; secondly intensify the history afterclass reading of students by the joint efforts of teachers, schools and families.1) Teachers shall give more guide to students’history afterclass reading;2) Schools shall faciliate the building of library and carry out beneficial reading activities to cultivate good atmosphere for reading;3)Build up a warm reading environment at home to allow students enjoy the funs in reading at home. Lastly, establish an effective assessment system for history afterclass reading and develop history reading courses based on the practical conditions of the school so as to perfect its of direction in history afterclass reading. This paper believes the above integrated solution can effectively resolve the problem of the inadequate history afterclass reading among middle school students, and meanwhile has significant meaning for achieving the goals of quality-oriented education in our country.The whole paper is mainly divided into three parts. The first part mainly explains the importance of intensifying history after-class reading for middle school students; the second part makes research about the current conditions of history after-class reading among the students in No.2Middle School through questionnaires, and makes analysis of the existing problems; and the third part puts forward the corresponding solutions for these existing problems. |
