The Research On The Service Pattern Of Social Work Institute

Nowadays, our country is experiencing the period of social transition, the original social welfare system can no longer meet the diversified social needs while facing the increasingly prominent social problems, consequently, a great number of social work institutions emerge to undertake the social service functions that shifted from the government. However, it is an issue worthy of study whether the social work institutions can satisfy the individual needs, family needs, community needs and society needs through the establishment of a set of suitable service pattern. This kind of study has some academic values to the relative field of social work, at the same time, it has certain realistic meanings in meeting the social needs as well as solving the social problems.The thesis is based on the social needs theory and social welfare theory, keeping the following ethics principles for the sake of the clients:voluntary, no hurt, anonymous and security, taking the Shen Zhen Sunny Family Integrated Service Center as the example, the social service institution’s background, development, service object and service items are analyzed, which is aided by using the observation method, deep interview method and literature analysis method. Further more, the thesis makes a complete analysis on the service pattern of the institute from the angle of how to meet the four dimensions of individual needs, family needs, community needs and society needs, therefore, the service pattern of the institute is summarized, which is charactered as community oriented, focusing on the family and integrated service. A comparison between the service pattern’s advantages and disadvantages is made, the analysis shows that the advantages of this pattern are the government promotion, integration of resources, brand maturity and well-developed service, etc. while, the disadvantages are the limited coverage of the crowd, inadequate resources and lack of personnel, etc.At last, the thesis concludes that the service pattern’s two features are the specialized service developed to satisfy the social needs and the emphasis on both the government supporting and institute’s capability building. The thesis discusses the service pattern’s development dilemmas on its orientation, independent and professional, suggestions on the development of the service of the social work institute are presented, including establishing service oriented pattern and customized service solution pattern. Hopefully, the concluded experience by the research on the service pattern would be of some reference to the other social institutes of the country.
