| There were four creative climaxes of costume film in20th century,theyall appeared in the history periods when the business environment wasrelatively good and the political restriction was relatively loose.Inaddition,they all started with history film and ended with genie film.Itcan be proved that Chinese movie has ancient costume complex,the deepcreative psychology.In the beginning of21th century,the5th creativeclimax appeared.It is the externalization and strengthening of theancient costume complex.Judging from formation mechanism,the ancient costume complex wasthe mixture of the national cultural tradition,the context of times,theimage type and the psychology of audience.Essentially,it is entertainmentcomplex and commercial complex.Judging form the entirety and similarity,Chinese costume filmsclearly showed the aesthetic features that they were the combinationof visual pleasure and post-emotion,the mixture of Orientalism andNationalism;the type predicament of elements’ mixture and the lack of innovation,the imbalance of historical truth and fiction narrative.Itis not only the overall summary of the costume film from the beginningof the new century,but also the common style of previous costume filmcreative upsurge.Judging form the singularity,different creative groups’ worksappeared different in the new century.Costume films of the FifthGeneration was full of elite discourse which preached the philosophyof power.Hong Kong directors’ works were the continuation of theentertainment spirit.The films directed by some directors of newgeneration like Yang Shupeng,Ding Sheng were full of mass discourse anddeconstruction.Above all,another important group,the Six Generation didnot creat one costume film in ten years of the new century.It can belooked as a unique phenomenon of the ancient costume complex. |
