The Grassland Stone Figures is the stone carving art which is created by the ancient northern grassland people.And it is the classic representative of the Northern prairie plastic arts.The Stone Figures have artistic characteristics of rustic, natural, honest and free. In this paper, we will layer analysis which based on the research of archaeology. Through research on the artistic beauty of the Stone Figures,I hope that we can form a certain understanding and be able to put the grassland ancestors made a survey of some methods and train of thought applied to practice.Article is divided into three parts. The first part is a brief description which include the name, production, distribution and function of the Stone Figures art.The importance is production and function of the Stone Figure. Through this basic introduction, the reader will be have a comprehensive and fundamental acquaintance.The second part mainly analyse artistic features in accordance with production and function of the Stone Figures.Through the observation of the figures and combined with the survey of the environmental background, we can compared with curving art which is similarity to show that there are some artistic characteristics include complanation, combination of realistic and freehand brushwork and combination of human and nature and so on. The third part is a combination of my own artistic creations to discuss the artistic inheritance and development issues. And we advocate for more people of insight to study this original art.
