His Early Novels Narrative Art

As a master of the May Fourth New Literature, Wang Tongzhao has brought new fresh air to the literary world of the new literature through his unique style of novel. The aim of this article is to reveal the historical status of Wang Tongzhao’s early novels in the literary history. Therefore, we attempts to start from the text form of Wang Tongzhao’s early novels, combine formalism and historical cultural background and to discusses Wang Tongzhao’s early novels narratology unique historical contribution.This article is divided into four parts:the first part analyzes the narrative time of his novels. Present past and future integrated and time freely in the past and present life experiences of narrative subject in the early novels of Wang Tongzhao. Narrative time jumping is closely related to the novel’s narrative rhythm. Wang Tongzhao’s early novels slow down the narrative rhythm by controlling the narrative time to express sentimental feelings. The narrative rhythm of Wang Tongzhao’s early novels and Yu Dafu’s are both slow. We aware of the handling of narrative time of Wang Tongzhao’s early novels is closer to the stream-of-consciousness approach and his novel style is more modernity through comparison of the two writers on the handling of narrative time.The second part investigated narrative view point of Wang Tongzhao’s early novels, it means that his novels are not fixed in a perspective. We often find "I" come out during the third-person omniscient narrative in his early novels. This kind of view point change would enhance the work of subjective color. On the rheology of narrative perspective, Wang Tongzhao is common to Ye Shengtao, but Wang Tongzhao also has something different:his view point of inner focus formatted voices in his text, and these voices can make dialogue just as it’s in the novels of Toth Tuo Aliyev Chomsky. The third part analyzes the Wang Tongzhao’s early novels narrative structure. His early novels present "Conceiving before painting " feature in the structure while the narratology interpretation is the "cross-sectional" characteristics of the narrative. There can be find inside the expression is a narrative showing the status of "dialogue" in the novels. Compared with other writers, Wang Tongzhao’s early novels "dialogue" feature is more significantly. The last part discusses the combination of the above three parts, summed up Wang Tongzhao’s early novels to explore the successful experiences in the arts and inadequacies. This makes Wang Tongzhao’s narrative features and its unique historical position in literary history much more clearly.
