Chinese As A Foreign Language Education Network Game Application And Design Research

With the development and wide spread of network, online computer games have become being of increasingly huge impact on the film, television, publishing and other industries resulted in characteristics such as vividness, interests, and high involvement. In recent years, the education researchers have begun to tap it with a new possibility:the games are to promote learner’s motivation with a huge boost. Whether can we take full advantage of these features to seek new teaching methods and to change the traditional teaching model has caused concern. If we make it, the "happy learning" may be an accessible prospect. In recent years, the development of MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), make we see the infinite possibilities of online games in education. Meanwhile, TCSL(Teaching Chinese as a Second Language), which distress many teachers with its limitations of the traditional teaching mode, also make a lot of inconvenience to the overseas learners. However, researchers have proposed an introduction of online game to TCSL. And unremitting exploration on the developing of new ideas of online educational games never stopped since then, achieved gratifying results.This paper talked about the characteristics of online games in details and analyzed the possibility and advantages of online games for TCSL, such as virtual reality environments, highly interactive, the inherent advantages of cultural import, and so on. Then it further proposed the design features from individual perspectives, and attempt to design a primary task of the script for the game of online education for the Chinese as a Foreign Language on this basis. Hoping this can play a valuable role, and provide some ideas for future research.The form of a network of educational games for TCSL is undoubtedly of great potential and unlimited prospects. As long as more foreign language educators put themselves into this work and brainstorm, online Chinese educational games must be able to be explored in continuous improvement, therefore better services the TCSL career.
