The studies of the mutual adaptation of movies and video games have a long history. The common ground and differences of movies and games become the most typical issue in the contemporary new media integration trend. Especially in the "Internet plus" media ecological environment, fusion of the two has beyond the traditional issues of mutual adaptation. Along with the rapid development of digital media technology, virtual reality technology connects the movies and games in a new level, making the two come near and start mutual integration. As representative of the electronic games, MMORPG games become the type which is the most easily combined with films because of its characteristics of multiplayer online role play.Our study sorts out the development of electronic games and explains the media features of the game and the relationship between the game and the game player. We also investigate MMORPG type games’ adhesion effect to the players and find out that the story’s unsustainable feature is an important reason for the loss of players. The study further investigates the relationship between the narrative and interactive nature of traditional MMORPG games and reveals the importance of narrative features of the MMORPG games. In the direction of mutual integration of interactivity and narrative, we focus on World of Warcraft as the representative of the new type of MMORPG games. We carry out an in-depth analysis of the game media and the film’s efforts to achieve a "immersive interactive experience" effect from the angles of the narrative, setting and production.Of course, another way to keep the vitality of the game is to make it into a movie, using "IP" adaptation to increase the added value of the game. In the past this method is mainly used for stand-alone game, but nowadays along with the release of the Dragon Nest Warriors’ dawn and the advent of World of Warcraft, such "IP" adaptation has appeared in the MMORPG type games. Through the discussion of the "IP" film adaptation of the MMORPG type games, we conclude for movies with game elements that virtual reality movies have more and more characteristics of the combination of immersive experience and potential interaction.Finally, based on the analysis of the World of Warcraft MMORPG game and the new adapted film, the authors put forward a model of Internet plus Game with movie elements and point out the pathway of the new medium for the integration of movies and games.
