Language and culture are inseparable. Therefore, culture teaching is essential in second language teaching. This is the generally accepted view in the second language teaching field. Being one of the Second Language Teaching, Chinese teaching mainly focus on developing the learners’ability to communicate cross-culture with Chinese language speaking naturally and appropriately like native speakers. Lack of culture teaching will lead to difficulties in the learners’communication. Therefore, it’s necessary to conduct culture teaching in Chinese teaching as a second language. However, it still remains problems that what kind of culture should be imported, and how to import culture in the process of language teaching timely and properly to ensure culture acquisition in the same time of language acquisition, and finally help the learners combine culture in language speaking to communicate.Taking the Chinese teaching textbook series<Developing Chinese> as a researching material, this paper conducts the research of culture teaching in Chinese teaching as a second language from the perspective of the editing of the teaching material and teaching practice.The first part investigates the indispensability of culture background in cross-culture communication based on the close relationship of language and culture. Thus bring out the culture teaching aimed at develop the learners’communicative ability in Chinese teaching as a second language.The second part takes<Developing Chinese>as an example, summarizes the principles and methods of cultural introduction in Chinese teaching material-the objective principle, the utility principle, the moderate principle, the timeliness principle and the principle of step by step. This part also studies how to select the suitable cultural content for foreign students from a wide range of cultural material and how to implement arrange these contents step by step in the textbooksThe third part takes<Developing Chines>as the research object, analysis the importance and dominant role of Chinese teachers in in the process of culture introducing, and summarizes some specific, effective cultural introduction methods the author used in teaching the practice.In the last part, we sum up the main points of the whole passage, and takes a look at the Chinese culture introduction in the Chinese teaching as a second language in prospect.The innovation of this paper includes the following aspects:1. combining with the Chinese teaching textbook series<Developing Chinese> this paper presents five principles of the culture content editing in the Chinese teaching material;2.according to the specific teaching process, we put forward some effective and feasible cultural introduction method in the Chinese language teaching process with the help of the practical experience;3.This paper put forward some new suggestions on the negative parts of Chinese culture in terms of the editing of the Chinese teaching material.
