During studying Chinese as the second language, adverbs are the one of the mainpart of the grammar, and can cause many difficulties for students. Chinese adverbs arenumerous, the sphere of their usage is wide, and there are many different kinds ofadverbs. Also there are many points of view between grammarians about adverb’sdescription and classification. Because Russian students have a lack of feel for languagethere can be some problems for them in studying and using Chinese adverbs. The mainsubject of this research is to describe and analyse Chinese adverbs, their description, classification, syntactic function, and place in the sentence and difficulties in usage. We can find out the difficulties in studying Chinese adverbs, and differences ofRussian and Chinese adverbs through their comparison. Because of the different wordclassification, students can mix up adverbs with other parts of the speech. Anotherproblem in studying Chinese adverbs is the difference in syntactic function betweenRussian and Chinese adverbs. Students can use Chinese adverbs as the predicate or asthe attribute.
