The main purpose of this article is to discuss the writing of Exam-oriented teaching materials for Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, HSK level three as an example, in order to help students, teachers and schools to have some opinions on writing and selecting teaching materials. First of all, this paper demonstrated the development of teaching Chinese as a Second Language, one problem in the teaching materials and the significance of this article. The studying object is oriented in the primary teaching materials. And then it gave an overview of the process when the author wrote one exam-oriented Chinese teaching material and some new ideas of it. However, the exam-oriented teaching materials are different from others. It has its own characteristics. This article discussed and analyzed the teaching methods applied in different teaching materials, studied the differences and similarities of the teaching object, the content and the methods. HSK exam is the object to be discussed and a sample of Modular teaching method guided HSK-3exam-oriented teaching material is attached as an example.
