The Theory of Grand Depth Operation was founded by Soviet Academy of Military of Sciences in1930s.It is the Theory about preparing and implementing the grand deep battle. The Theory of Grand Depth Operation clearly reveals the dependence of styles and methods of operation to weapons. As one of the world’s most advanced military Theory of the1930s-1940s, the Theory of Grand Depth Operation has gone the process of tortuous development to the pinnacle of use.The author tries to analysis the background of the production, the process of production and development of the Theory of grand deep battle, and tries to analysis the use of the Theory of Grand Depth Operation in the practice of war. In this chapter the author tries to summary the experiences of world war one and soviet’s domestic war, and experiens of some battles before world war two. Soviet’s military theorists foresaw the development pattern of future war. According this, the theorists put a series of suggestion to innovate the military theories.They build mobile armies and let deep battle into deep war. With the continuous development of military Theory, the soviet internal leavers determined "various arms contract battle" as the basic principle of the Theory of Grand Depth Operation. And success of this Theory is applied to of Hassan Hu and Halha the two battles.The third part is the world war two and reestablished the Theory of Grand Depth Operation. In this chapter the author discusses the development of the Theory of Grand Depth Operationalin world war two. German Blitzkrieg in Poland, Western Europe, this made Soviet Union realized that such methods of warfare was very similar to the Theory of Grand Depth Operation that they had abandoned,then Soviet Union reestablish the basic principle of the Theory of Grand Depth Operation. However, the Theory did not put into practice, thus resultingin Soviet retreat in Soviet-German war in the early.
