Suishu,a history book of biographic style, recorded in the history of the Sui regime,has always been to get a higher evaluation of the historian. While there is no works thathas made comprehensive and detailed study on its narrative style and characteristics. Itis,therefore, of significance to study the literary value and narrative style of Suishu.There are three parts in this thesis:Chapter one approves from the complete course and style of Suishu to explore thehigher level of literary value of Suishu.Chapter two introduces the impact of Tang rulers literature and history preserved inthis book.Chapter three analyzes the biography literary achievements. Suishu narrative clarity,most kind of character in it had his personality. The historical theory in Suishu werevery profoud, clear and fluent.A conclusion is drawn that Suishu contains high literary value.
