Sociolinguistic study of Anshan names are currently in the blank stage. The explorationof Anshan names of this article, from the perspective of sociolinguistics, has specialsignificance of filling the gaps and value of linguistic culture.Anshan’s natural villages have in all 5978 names. To explore these names, this articlecomprehensively demonstrates the historical relations between Anshan names and socialculture in detail, through observing and analyzing the history and composition of place namesin Anshan and the social culture and psychology reflected in the origin and evolution of thenames.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the basic elements ofAnshan names from aspects of syllable structure and words structure. The second partanalyses the intimate connection between Anshan names and social culture from geographicalfeatures, migration of nationalities, economic activities, military activities, historical acts andreligious faiths. The third part analyses the social culture psychologies reflected in Anshannames.
