| Hui-dao-men was a very active force in China’modern history which have had a great influence and also played a complex role in Chinese underclass. However, after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, hui-dao-men have no idea to find its right plece in Communist Party of China’s grant and ambitious plan in which CPC take Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong’s ideology as a criterion and the Soviet model as a template and in order to achieve socialism and communism. CCP severely banned hui-dao-men in the background of the movement to suppress counterrevolutionaries, then it basically disappeared in mainland China.The reason that hui-dao-men problem can be resolved in a short time is that CCP took it as a political task instead of just banned hui-dao-men in the form. Through its strong social mobilization, CCP completely destroyed the influence of hui-dao-men in the lower classes. In Beijing, CCP overnight arrested most of the hui-dao-men heads after a long-term preparation. Then with great fanfare CCP announced hui-dao-men as "counter-revolutionary organizations" to occupy a favorable position in the public opinion. After that, CCP continued to disseminate hui-dao-men’s crimes and equated it with "counterrevolutionary" in the forms of newspaper, radio, exhibition, seminar and complaint meeting. CCP also actively mobilize the general believers to struggle with hui-dao-men heads for money, as a result, the general believers mostly supported CCP in the mood of thanking. The climax of this movement was the public execution of some hui-dao-men heads, and it had a deterrent influence to a great number of the general believers. In this movement, Beijing’s party and government organizations played a key role. By the work of all the CCP members, the movement had a good end.The nascent CCP regime in Beijing quickly removed the residual strength of the old society through this movement, established its own authority. These achievements have laid the foundation for the future. |
