Zhou En-lai’s Thoughts About Economic Management In The Early Days(1949-1956)

Zhou En-Lai is not only one of the important designers for the building blueprint of the People’s Republic of China, but also an excellent organizer and governor. As Chinese people’s Primer Minister, he combined the basic principle of Marxism with Chinese socialist construction, proposed a series of the economic management thoughts with Chinese characteristics, which had important significance and great influence. Researching into Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management in the early days (1949-1956) and using the scientific management methods and experience for reference, have the significant practical significance for ameliorating the economic management, improving the economic decision-making level and promoting sustainable economic growth of the Contemporary China and constructing the harmonious society. This article researched Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management in the early days (1949-1956). Its main contents can be divided into the following five parts:The first part is the introduction.The second part discusses the conditions of Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management including theoretical foundation and practice base, background, etc.The third part particularly expounds the main content of Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management in the early days of the nation. This part consists of the importance of economic management, practising target management in economic work (the principles of the economic management including the principle of unity, the principle of both parties, the principle seeking truth from facts and following economic law), the main method and measures of the economic management, which mainly include resuming and developing production, taking care of various relations in the economic management, taking use of capitalism to transform socialist, paying attention to the power of science and technology, reforming economic management system and advocating independence at the same time opening-up, etc.The fourth part is the characteristics of Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management. Mainly reflects in bright pragmatic style, flexible management skills, strong humanistic care, prominent dialectical feature.The fifth part is the epilogue parts, putting forward how to develop the essence of Zhou En-Lai’s thoughts about economic management for socialist modernization construction.
