With the social and economic development, people’s life style has changed,1/3life time is occupied by leisure activities. In recent years, the relationship of theleisure-time physical activity (LTPA) and mental health has caught the attention ofmany researchers. But the reviews show that, the relationship between the two isrelatively complex because of many factors, and has not come to the same conclusion. The research especially in the college students is limited. On the basis of the previous studies, we choose the college students as theresearch object to investigate the present situation of the LTPA among collegestudents and determine the relationship of LTPA and mental health. Then according tothe Pender’s health promotion model, we construct the influencing factors of thecollege student LTPA model, to provide a psychology basis for understanding andpromoting the college students’LTPA.The whole study includes two major researches. Part1,with InternationalPhysical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ, leisure-time version) investigating the level ofthe college students’ LTPA, we discuss the correlation of the LTPA and part of collegestudents’ mental health assessment dimensions(conscious psychological stress, positive emotion, learning burnout); part2, with structure equation model to constructthe college students’multi-dimensional factors affecting of the LTPA model, and then, with learning burnout as the result variable, we discuss the model’s effect on learningburnout. Results show that:Part one:1) the college students’ average level of LTPA is far lower than the full standard, the average total metabolic activity is only712.9METmin per week; college students’LTPA has the demographic difference, including gender differences (t=5.696, p<0.01, the boys’ weekly LTPA are significantly more than the girls’), the difference ofphysical activity habit(F(2,323)=49.895,p<0.01, regular activities’ are significantlymore than the irregularity and not necessarily). 2) The LTPA is significantly related to the mental health. The correlation of theLTPA and the conscious psychological stress, learning burnout are significantlynegative, and of the positive emotion is positive. Path analysis suggests, through theconsciousness psychological pressure, LTPA can affect the learning burnout indirectly;through the consciousness psychological pressure, LTPA can affect positive emotion, and then indirectly affect the learning burnout.Part two:LTPA model is a multi-dimensional factors model, unified3dimensions,9variables: personal factors(gender, physical activity habit), cognitive-emotionalfactors (conscious psychological pressure, positive emotion, perceived interests ofactivity, perceived barriers to activity, perceived self-efficacy for activity, perceivedsocial support for activity), and health behavior results (LTPA). The model of threeintegrated structures fits the data indicators, achieving the desired level. The LTPA model can predict the mental health(learning burnout), and thestructure equation model shows: through the cognitive-emotional factors, personalfactors can directly or indirectly predict LTPA, and then predict learning burnout;Cognitive-emotional factors can directly predict LTPA, and predict learning burnout. The results of this study is of great theoretical and practical significance topromote more college students to participate in LTPA and improve the students’mental health.
