| Through internet and mobile phone SMS technology, and based on the Health Action Process Approach model, the 8-week designed program aimed to intervene and improve physical activity(PA) and dietary behavior of university students. 493 university students(Mean age=19.2, SD=1.18; Nmale=225, Nfemale=268) were assigned randomly into one of two groups:(1) intervention group(IG): first PA(week 1-4) and then dietary(week 5-8);(2) control group(CG): no particular intervention received. Besides, all groups were contacted for collecting data via website at the beginning of intervention(NIG(T1)=270, NCG(T1)=223), at the end of intervention(NIG(T2)=199, NCG(T2)=138), and 1 month after the intervention(NIG(T3)=88,NCG(T3)=54). Finally, 142 participates completed three online questionnaires. The outcomes indicated that(1) with the help of the intervention program, students were able to increase their healthy diet consumption, but there was no significant difference in physical activity;(2)compared with a control group, students in the intervention group gained more in psychosocial correlates of PA(intention, motivation self-efficacy, maintenance self-efficacy,coping planning, social support) and fruit & vegetable intake(intention, motivation self-efficacy, maintenance self-efficacy, recovery self-efficacy, action planning, coping planning, social support);(3) students were able, with the help of the intervention program, to gain more psychological health benefits, such as to improve their quality of life. |
