Objective In recent years, large numbers of domestic reports about how acupuncture treat post-stroke spastic hemiplegic have been published, yet the quality of them is uneven. This article aims to assess the quality of the domestic articles of the past four years about acupuncture treatment of spasticity based on the STRICTA standard. Methods Use acupuncture, stroke, spasm and their synonymous as the search terms to retrieve the China Academic Journal, VIP database and wan fang database. Search the post-stroke spastic hemiplegic articles period from September2008to September2012. Evaluate the method, diagnosis and inclusion/exclusion standard, response evaluation criteria, and follow-up included in the used literatures, and assess them according to the international standard for reporting interventions in controlled trials of acupuncture, which known as STRICTA between acupuncture/control group interventions. Results A total of42randomized controlled trials are low-quality research.24(54%) literatures describe the random method, and most of them select the number which is the treatment sequence from a random number table,2(4.8%) clinical study using stratified random method, only four (9.5%) to use allocation concealment;7(16.7%) are single-blind blinded literature; Most of the literature sample size is small, with an average of35cases, there is a big difference about the efficacy evaluation time of the42studies, for up to3months and the shortest is14days; there is a big difference in diagnostic criteria and evaluation criteria of the42articles.according to STRICTA, the42articles all mention the name of the acupuncture points, but most studies do not describe the unilateral or bilateral acupoints;3(7.1%) literatures mentioned the number of used needles;25(59.5%)literatures refer to the depth of inserting needle;21(50%) of the literature refer to the patients’response after acupuncture;31(73.8%) refer to the time about needles in the patients;23(54.8%) mentioned needles model; mentioned in25(59.5%) studies about the needling depth;41(97.6%) of the literature mentioned the course of treatment;38(90.5%) were referred to in the literature about the frequency of the treatment unit;36documents mentioned auxiliary interventions; no literature referred to the therapist’s qualifications:All studios mentioned controlled interventions, of which30researches set. rehabilitation as control group,7set usual medicine for the control group in the study, five research set the control group as baclofon treatment. Conclusion There is no domestic high-quality research about the acupuncture treatment of spastic hemiplegia, yet we can not make a positive conclusion about the efficacy through their trials. From test design and implementation point of view, it is recommended that:①trial designers and implementers must accept the basics of formal clinical trials training;②before the formal implementation of the program, the first pre-trial should be made and calculate the sample size, based on the results of the pre-test adjust the clinical test design;(3)randomized controlled trials about acupuncture treatment of acute ischemic stroke patients should be carried out in accordance with internationally recognized CONSORT and STRICTA, to improve the quality of medicine Clinical Research...
