Lung, Breast Cancer-related Fatigue And Characteristics Of Tcm Syndrome Differentiation

Objective:To investigate on the symptom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in lung cancer and breast cancer patients with CRF by using the assessment scales, for the further exploration on the characteristics of differentiation of TCM.Methods:Collecting the patients’information by questionnaire and clinical interview and making up the questionnaire for breast cancer and lung cancer patients. The general information,diagnosis and treatment, MDASI-TCM and PFS are concluded in the questionnaire. Each group which the breast cancer and lung cancer patients are involved need100questionnaire.The-expert group is built up by the doctors from Beijing Chinese Medicine Hospital of Capital Medical University. On the basis of ((TCM Syndrome Clinical Study of the guiding principles》, they elementary formulate the diagnostic criterion of the syndrome differentiation on CRF, in order to summarize the types of syndrome differentiation of TCM of lung cancer and breast cancer patients. Statistical analyses were performed wi th Excel software and SPSS (v18.0) to the comprehensive ana lysis.Results:The fatigue between lung cancer and breast cancer is different(P<0.05). Mean ratings for general fatigue and four dimensions of fatigue were mild to moderate. It’s common to see four or five concurrent syndromes in syndrome differentiation of TCM. Breast cancer patients with CRF always suffer varying degrees of symptoms,such as sleepy, disturbed sleeping, forget fulness, depress ion, dysphoria, dry mouth, mouth pain, shortness of breath, pain and other symptoms; common symptoms of lung cancer patients,such as sputum,cough,shortness of breath, drowsiness, disturbed sleeping, pain, dry mouth,forgetfulness, poor appetite, depression, sweating and other symptoms. According to the frequency, The common CRF syndromes of breast cancer patients with CRF are stagnation of liver qi, deficiency of spleen qi,deficiency of kidney qi, blood stasis,and yin deficiency,the common CRF syndrome of lung cancer are phlegm-dampness, deficiency of lung qi, deficiency of spleen qi, blood stasis, deficiency of kidney qi.The common syndrome of CRF patients with lung cancer and breast cancer is the mixed deficiency.In conclusion, the deficiency of lung qi, deficiency of spleen qi and deficiency of kidney qiare common deficiency syndrome.Phlegm-dampness, blood stasis, stagnat ion of liver qi is common excess syndrome.Conclusion:The CRF between lung cancer and breast cancer is mild to moderate.It’s common to see four or five concurrent syndromes in syndrome differentiation of TCM. Deficiency syndrome in lung cancer with CRF is more than excess syndrome and mainly in syndrome of lung qi deficiency, the phlegm-dampness is more than others in excess syndrome, the breast cancer is deficiency of spleen qi and the excess syndrome is stagnation of liver qi.
