Research background:Pulmonary fibrosis is to diffuse alveolar units of chronic inflammation and fibrosis is the main pathological features are a class of diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary interstitial fibrosis and secondary to pulmonary interstitial fibrosis. Its etiology is complex, hitherto unexplained pathogenesis, lung diseases with severe problems, progressively increased, the mortality rate is high, serious harm to people’s health. According to its pathogeny, interstitial pulmonary fibrosis can be divided into two categories:the definite one can belong to the primary disease or be called to secondary pulmonary interstitial fibrosis; the other one which has unknown pathogeny is defined as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The incidence of IPF has a high rate, which is rising in recent years. There are no ideal drugs in the treatment of IPF. Glucocorticoid is the mainly treatment in western medicine, with inevitable side effects. Professor Zhou Pingan, who is the famous traditional chinese medical doctor, summarizes the experience of treatment on pulmonary fibrosis in the long time of clinical practice. And he thingks the basic pathogenesis of the disease is Qi deficiency and blood stasis, as well as phlegm stagnation and meridian blockage. Thus, the treatmental principle are benefiting qi and promoting blood as well as resolving sputum and unobstructing meridian. Then, Fei Bi Tang was formulated and achieve satisfactory clinical efficacy. The literature review contains two parts:The first review was about an overview of Chinese medicine treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. The content included discussion of the name, the etiology as well as pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis from the view of traditional Chinese medicine. Moreover, it refered the differentiational and treatmental characteristics of pulmonary fibrosis as well as clinical experience on differentiation and treatment of traditional chinese medical doctors. Meanwhile, it contained progress of diagnosis and treatment on pulmonary interstitial fibrosis from the view of modern medcine, and status quo about the diagnosis and treatment of interstitial lung disease were mainly introducted. The clinical study:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of the Fei Bi Tang treating pulmonary interstitial fibrosis. Method:In this study, the clinical efficacy which treated applying Fei Bi Tang was observed. Depending the diagnosis standard in western medicine and diagnosis of certificates in traditional chinese medicine,30cases were collected, and the procedure was three months, And comparing respect, the main symptoms, signs, dyspnea, pulmonary function, HRCT scores and the change of the SF-36scale of patients in the two groups, and finally it was concluded that the overall effect of the the Fbi Bi tang to treat pulmonary interstitial fibrosisResults:1. Disease efficacy:pulmonary fibrosis patients after lung decoction for3months after treatment,30cases,2cases improved,24cases,4cases are invalid, The total effeetive rate was86.7%, Chinese traditional medicine of Feibi Decoction in improving IPF patients with clinical symptoms, the remission of the disease and to maintain stable disease has a certain role;2. Syndrome of traditional Chinese Medicine efficacy:Patients after3months of Feibi decoction after treatment,0cases were cured,3cases, effective in16cases, ineffective in11cases, The total effeetive rate of therapeutic efficacy of TCM Syndrome was63.3%, after treatment of TCM syndromes in the patients with lung qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome improved;3. Symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine curative effect:Pulmonary fibrosis patients clinical symptoms (wheezing, shortness of breath, cough, expectoration, fatigue) before and after treatment compared with integral are statistical differences (P<0.05), the difference was statistically significant, especially after coughing, expectoration effect obvious aspects. Chinese Materia Medica Feibi Decoction in improving clinical symptoms of patients with pulmonary fibrosis has an obvious effect;4. The effect of dyspnea:According to the breathing difficult curative effect evaluation criteria, after3months after the treatment of interstitial pulmonary fibrosis respiratory difficulty degree, treatment of30patients, including4cases, effective in8cases,18cases are invalid, efficiency of40%, Chinese traditional medicine of Feibi Decoction on dyspnea has a certain improving effect;5. Pulmonary function effect:Forced expiratory volume in one second to Predieted value(FEVI%) had statistical significance before and after treatment (P<0.05). While forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity ratio(FEV1/FVC)and Total Lung Capacity(TLC) and Vital Capacity Forced (VC) and diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide of the lung(DLco) all showed no statistical difference (P>0.05);6. HRCT effect:The HRCT results showed there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05);7. SF-36scale effect:Each index had statistical significance(P<0.05), after treatment with marked the volume of each index in the score were significantly improved, especially patients’quality of life can be improved greatly. Conclusion:Denpending Fei Bi Tang to treat pulmonary interstitial fibrosis exactly achieved clinical efficacy in a certain degree, also it can improve the clinical symptoms and signs significantly, reduce toxic reaction and side-effects, Maintain the stable condition of the disease, especially for the patients state of health, energy, emotional functionto play a positive impact, especially patients’quality of life can be improved greatly.
