Objective:To evaluate the longitudinal arch of the foot with and without plantar fasciitis in order to establish the relationship between plantar fasciitis and the arch. Methods:32feet of27cases with plantar fasciitis and30normal feet of21cases were investigated by roentgenography. On the lateral dorsalis view (sitting and weight-bearing standing), the top angle of medial longitudinal arch and the top angle of outer longitudinal arch were measured respectively, separately calculated the difference of the top angle of medial longitudinal arch and the top angle of outer longitudinal arch in the weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing. Compare the differences between plantar fasciitis foot and normal foot. Analyze the statistical significances and change characteristics of the top angle of medial longitudinal arch and the top angle of outer longitudinal arch(non weight-bearing and weight-bearing digits, plantar fasciitis foot and normal foot), Using structure mechanics method to verify it. Results:In27patients with plantar fasciitis patients weighing74.2±12.3kg, the weight median is70kg. In21normal subjects, weight is64.0±9.3kg, median is60kg. In27patients with plantar fasciitis patients, BMI value is26.7±3.5, the median was26.3; In21normal subjects, the BMI value is24.0±2.1, the median was24. In the non-weight-bearing, the top angle of medial longitudinal arch of plantar fasciitis feet is114.4°±7.3°,the median is114.5°.the normal feet is113.6°±4.9°, and the median is114.5°.The former outer arch angle was135.9±9.1°, the median is134°, normal feet is134.1°±5.1°, median132.5°; in the weight-bearing digits, the top angle of medial longitudinal arch of plantar fasciitis feet is128.9°±7.5°,the median is128.5°.the normal feet is129.3°±5.2°, and the median is130°.The former outer arch angle was144.8°±9.4°, the median is145°, normal feet is146.3°±5.5°, median148°. Plantar fasciitis dorsalis from non weight-bearing digits to weight-bearing digits, bow angle change in value of14.6°±5.1°, the median is15.0°, normal foot of15.7°±5.3°, the median is14.5°; the outer arch angle change value of the former is8.9°±5.3°, the median is8.5°, normal foot12.2°±4.8°the median is11°. Plantar fasciitis foot and normal foot in non weight-bearing digits and weight-bearing position within the lateral longitudinal arch of the foot shape of no significant difference (P>0.05); weight bearing after two of the medial longitudinal arch of the foot to change a weight-bearing before had no significant difference (P>0.05), whereas the lateral longitudinal arch of the foot to change a weight-bearing before significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion:1. Being overweight is one of the reasons caused the plantar fasciitis.2.Plantar fasciitis foot and normal foot arch forms often have no obvious differences in static conditions cases;3.When standing, foot cannot fully through the lateral longitudinal arch of variable stress absorption, may be cause plantar fasciitis of a reason.
