The idea of “Man is an integral part of nature” is the foundational concept and thebasic spirit of Chinese philosophy. In a country with a history of five thousand years anda deep culture, the philosophical concept of this idea is fully embodied in the relationsbetween Human and Nature. With the speeding up social development and urbanization,people’s lifestyles and habits have also been changed in the city of steel and concrete,people getting growing part from the nature. The desire of returning to the nature becomeseven more intense. Therefore, the interior design of natural style emerged, and graduallybecomes the main stream of modern design. The concept of intergrading natural elementsinto interior design fully embodies the essence of traditional Chinese culture. Such designnot only eases the sense of alienation between human and the nature, also meets physicaland spiritual needs of returning the nature.The integration of natural elements and interior design contains rich connotation ofChinese culture, comprises of the dialogue between history and modern and realizes theperfect linkup between the design language of natural elements and that of technologicalfield. The true meaning of the interior design with natural elements is to develop a greendesign method which could, on the basis of the use of cultural elements, facilitate the futuredevelopment of the society, meet the needs of sustainable development and at the sametime adhere to the traditional Chinese culture. Moreover, it should also be the bestexplanation for the idea of “Man is an integral part of nature” in the interior design field.The18thCPC national congress first puts forward the idea of promoting greendevelopment, cyclic development and low-carbon development, taking the ecologicalcivilization construction as an overall development plan and emphasizing the constructionof Beautiful China, which should include the beauty of nature, of simplicity, of system andof layout. Therefore, the incorporation of natural elements and interior design has becomeour urgent need for us to follow the trend of the times, carry forward the idea of innovationand construct the beautiful China.The thesis studies the application of natural elements in the interior design andexplores the method to incorporate the beauty of nature into the modern interior, as well asthe way to mobilize the active function of the objective factors in the space organization, soas to develop the function, form, elegant taste and artistic conception of the interior designinto a new height. During the study period, the author mainly uses the method of literatureresearch, comparative analysis and system analysis. This paper first gives the introduction of part, the paper briefly introduces the background and significance of the study at homeand abroad and the research present situation, the paper study content and method and thestructure of the paper, on the basis of natural elements and interior design related theoryexpounded briefly, then, focusing on the analysis of the natural elements in the interiordesign of the application of the principles and performance analysis, and then, key andin-depth analysis of the natural elements in the use of natural light interior design studyway, and finally analyses the natural elements in the development trend of interior design.
