Acquisition Research Of Thai Students On The Chinese Location Words

Chinese Location words indicate directions or positions. Thai Language does have this kind of words too. And there exists neat correspondence relationship,but they also show many differences. The object of this paper is the Chinese Directional Words"dong/xi/nan/bei""shang/xia""qian/hou zuo/you""li/wai", and the corresponding word in Thai Language.Firstly we compare the12directional words of two languages in system, Including the analysis of syntactic function,basic meaning,metaphorical meaning,and prepositional phrase "the looming situation of preposition+N/NP+directional words"Second,with the help from HSK motive composition corpus of Beijing Language&Culture University,compositions of Thai Students in Southwest University and our designed survey paper, we investigated the bias conditions from Chinese Directional Words’acquisition of Thai students.Through classification analysis, we find bias the students can be classified as missing, incorrectly added to misuse, wrong sequence. And we think the reasons of their bias are cognitive differences,analogical reasoning of the native language’s rules,negative transfer of the target language, cultural differences,learners’ acquisition and communication strategies.On this basis, this paper presents the recommendations of certain textbooks and teaching strategy.The recommendations include "adjusting the order of appearance of Chinese directional words""pay attention to the contradistinction of Chinese directional words and synonyms""pay attention to prepositional phrase ".
