| Rather than use apparent form like Chinese modal particles, English useintonation or the order of the words to express the appropriate mood. TheEnglish-speaking students often make mistakes on Chinese modal particles learning.Besides, the non-interrogative mood has not been paid great attention. This paperchose156wrong non-interrogative mood sentences about BA(å§ï¼‰ï¼ŒNE(呢),A (啊)from the Dynamic Corpus of writing papers which were wrote by English-speakingstudents. As a result, we found three error types. They are wrong choice of modalparticles, redundantly using of modal particles and omissions of modal particles.In the light of the theory of interlanguage, we found there are several factorsbrought about the errors of BA, NE, and A. These factors include: negative transfer ofmother tongue, interference from the target language, different expression waysbetween English and Chinese mood, influence of teaching material and referencebooks.According to the error types and the factors brought about the errors, thefollowing learning strategies have been put forward:1. Learning should be step bystep.2. With contrasting approach, highlight the difference between using thedifferent modal particles.3. Increasing the component of modal particles in theteaching materials and class lectures.4. Using a variety of teaching methods. |
