The forms of "zai LV" and "V zai L" are used to express relationship of location and verb combination in modern Chinese. To Put "zai L" before or after a verb is not only a major difficulty in modern Chinese grammar, but also a big problem in the Chinese teaching to the foreigners. This paper consists of6chapters and comprehensively investigates and researches the forms of "zai LV" and "V zai L" which confuse second language learners.Chapeter1is the introduction.It explains the reason of the topic, reviews the present research situation, explains the significance and the corpus being used. Chapter2investigates and classifies syntactic structures of "zai LV" and "V zai L". It has been found that some satisfied the two structures, while some can only used in the "zai LV" or "V zai L". Word order constraints on "zai L" in the two forms are also analyzed, including the principle of temporal sequence and constraints of single, two-syllable verb on "zai L" word order.Chapter3researches the transformation law of "zai LV" or "V zai L" from semantic function combined with Classification of "V".Chapeter4researches Pragmatic Analysis of "zai LV" and "V zai L’Chapeter5proposes the Chinese teaching strategy to foreigners based on the difference analysis of the two forms.Chapeter6is the conclusion. Whatever showed the location of the action taking place, the semantic direct to [source],[occur],[end] or the presence location, we should use "zai LV" form; whatever t showed the location of the action taking place, the semantic direct to [end] or the presence location, we should use"V zai L" form. |
