This MTI thesis is composed of two parts. The first part is the C-E passage translation with the length of more than10,0000words, from the book General History of China complied by Simian Lv, coming out of press of Shanghai Chinese Classics Publishing House. Such original text is informative sociology work with literature flavour, and we select some chapters to translate, namely Author’s Preface, Marriage, Property, Character and Language and Early Contact and Communication between China and the West. Second part is the commentary scientific paper applying the translation theory into our practice. Starting from an experiment of inter-lingual translation from Chinese, English, French to Chinese, we certify the existence of entropy and pay much attention to the information entropy during the process of language transfer, and afterwards the concept of entropy and negentropy are introduced legitimately. In the new angle, we explicate that translation is a kind of dynamic equilibrium. The reasons we account for the mechanism of entropy are multi-dimensional, which are the incompatibility of language systems, culture factors, untranslatability, skopos and game practice. Through the case study, we put forward the strategy of reconstruction plot, inflow of negentropy information, optimal equivalence, non-transgress and flexible compromise in terms of methodology,...
