From the Han to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Buddhism came to China in the criticalperiod, especially in the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties period is the mostimportant. During this period, Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture experience fromattachment to separation, then to harmonious exchange and fusion process, this process isbound to exert a great influence on Chinese literature. One of the most important effects isthe Buddhist believers in order to promote the development of law, created a lot ofliterature (including poetry, prose, novels and other styles), on the development ofChinese literature has made great contribution to. In addition there are many Buddhistmonks and scholars and intellectuals Association, Xielv travel, exchange of letters, alsocreated a large number of literary works, the monks of literary works become an importantpart of Chinese literature.This paper from the three parts to be discussed:The first part: introduction. Previous to the monks of literature collection and research.Second part: the thesis, divided into three chapters.First chapter: an introduction to the Sixteen Kingdoms period monks literature fromthe cultural background and social background. Discussion of Buddhism and Taoism,metaphysics and the Confucian culture and the conflict between the fusion, the influence ofBuddhism is spiraling trend. On the social mentality of scholars produced very big effect.Second chapter: an introduction to the Sixteen Kingdoms period monks literaryachievements. To the monks and Scholars Association as the breakthrough point, discusstheir thoughts and literary exchange between, and Buddhism into prose, and poetry oflandscape travel has made a unique contribution to the later literature creation, alsoproduced far-reaching effect.Third chapter:Introduces the main monk ’s literary creation. The selected Hui-yuan,Zhidun such famous monk ’s literary creation as the research object, and furtherdemonstrates the monks of literature in this period of important achievements and in theliterary history of the important status.The third part: conclusion. Summary and evaluation of the Sixteen Kingdoms periodmonks literary history significance and historical position.
