| The ultimate goal of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL) is todevelop learners’ Chinese communicative ability. Since TCFL is a kind of cultureteaching as well as language teaching, emphasis should be placed on the cultural classand its related study in order to improve the culture teaching of TCFL and to realizethe integrated teaching of language and culture. In addition, tea as the indispensablepart of Chinese culture should be included the culture teaching because tea culture hasbeen developing under the influence of confucianism, taoism and buddhism, andfurthermore, it is reflected on different aspects of life. However, there is few studyconcerning the tea culture of TCFL. Therefore, this paper aims to use “Green TeaCeremony†as the teaching case and introduces a detailed teaching design of teaculture. Primarily the author systematically analyzes the literature, theories andresearch of teaching design in the field of TCFL. Based on this review, the authorevaluates the teaching goals, content and principles of tea culture class. It is hopedthat this study will provide insights into the practice of tea culture teaching in thefuture. |
