A Study On The Words In Yanbu Of Shuowen Jiezi

This paper consists of four parts:The first part is the introduction. Firstly, we introduce the current study onYanbu of Shuowenjiezi. Then we expound the scope, which is mainly about the wordsin Yanbu of Shuowenjiezi and some others which were not included in, and the mainidea of this paper. Finally, we illustrate the theories and methods.In the second part, we classify all the words in Yanbu by meanings for the lackof arrangement. For example, the adjective Chi(謘) was placed in front of the verbs,the original synonyms Liang(谅) and Xin(信) were not listed together, and doublephrases Zhe Nie(謺讘) were apart……Confronting with this situation, we classify allthe words in Yanbu into four categories: words about expression(contains161words),description(46words), psychology(15words) and action(33words).In the third part, we interpret the relationship between the words in Yanbu andsome other Bus(部). The relationship can be summarized into four ways: meaning ofnear-synonyms related words, variant forms, dialect, and double phrases.In the fourth part, we present the ancient cultural phenomenon of the words inYanbu, like language art, dignity and humble culture and legal culture.
