The Semantic Analysis And The Culture Explanation Of Chinese Traditional Cultural Core Category Of SHAN

Shan is an important ethical category. In the whole development of China, the idea of Shan affects people’s view of world, outlook on life and sense of worth, and has far-reaching influence to the develop of Chinese character feature. From the view of the semantic, the semanteme of Shan belongs to the category of moral character and behavior, and the behavior character can be divided into three sub-categories:behavioral identity, behavioral judgment and technical capacity. The character Shan appears totally475times in the Four Books, which spread in all the categories. In the essay, the sentences containing Shan will be analyzed, finding out that most sentences belongs to the original meaning and the category of moral character. The Shan idea of Confucian is hided from those sentences containing Shan, and the Shan sentences tells the forming of ancient Chinese ethical system and the thinking to human nature from Chinese ancient philosopher.
