In this paper, we use the method of the combination of description and interpretation, statistical analysis and so on. We apply the support of three plane theories, from a total perspective to investigate the blanket range adverb "quan" in detail. The full text is divided into five parts. The first and the fifth part are the introduction and conclusion, relatively simple. The middle of the three parts is the focus of this article. And each part of the general content is as follows:The first chapter is an introduction. The chapter is used to explain the purpose and significance of this study, the related research, the researched objects and methods, as well as the corpus of sources.The second chapter is the syntactic distribution of the adverb "quan". There are two distributions of the "quan" in the sentence. One distribution is in the predicate before alone, and the other distribution is in front of the predicate with other ingredients."Quan" can be lay alone before the predicative predicate, but also can appear alone before the predicate of the body parts of speech. Other components that co-occur with "quan" refer to other adverbs, modal verbs and some of the phrases. Adverb "quan" can be distributed in the vast majority of sentences; some contexts are "quan" can’t get in, so it is limited. This limitation is embodied in any means, such as unidentifiable and non-referential, quantifier, referential and generic.The third chapter is the semantic analysis of the adverb "quan". Adverb "quan" has three semantic features. There are expressive the conclusion, the whole and the realization. Expressive the conclusion is the basic and the most important semantic feature. Semantic point can point before also point after, and sometimes this point leads to the ambiguity. However, we can use the context and accent means to eliminate such ambiguity. In addition,"quan" is restricted in semantic about universal quantification and several quantification, attribute judgment and relational judgment.The fourth chapter is the pragmatic case study of the adverb "quan". In pragmatics, the adverb "quan" can choose four varieties of sentence. They are declarative sentence, interrogative sentence, imperative sentence and exclamatory sentence. It can also choose some sentence categories, for example long sentences and phrases, whole sentence and scattered sentence, active sentence and passive sentence, affirmative and negative sentences. Besides, it can be used in written stylistic and spoken stylistic. And it can express many tones, such as blame, stress and discouragement. At the same time, in pragmatics, the adverb "quan" will be subjected to constraints and limitations as syntactic and semantic. Specifically it is influenced by the following factors:subjective a small amount and subjective a large number, a set of reference and bounded statements, general index and common index.Finally, we concluded the paper. We generalized and summarized the paper. And we gave the conclusions investigated. Last we pointed out the inadequacies of the article, as well as the future direction.
