《A Dream in Red Mansions》 is known as "encyclopedia" of China’s feudal society, it not only has profound ideological value, but also has excellence in artistic achievement. Its extremely high language skill attainments obtains consistent high praise of the researchers and enthusiasts all over the world. Flexibility in the usage of a variety of rhetorical is one of the features of the language in 《A Dream in Red Mansions》. Among them, puns throughout the whole parts and add artistic charm to this work, they have implicit meanings, and they are always the aggregations of original meanings, hidden meanings and additional meanings. Therefore, they are often used in the occasions where they must be spoken but not be clearly spoken.Puns in the 《A Dream in Red Mansions》 are divided into the homophonic puns and the semantic puns. They are referred to the personal names, place names, poetries, drinking game words, lantern riddles, common sayings, daily hummers and all aspects of social life, fully embody the high achievement in the Chinese rhetoric art. This paper is on the foundation of previous studies, to carry on contrasts between the Uyghur and Chinese edition of the 《A Dream in Red Mansions》, and also, from the point of rhetoric studying and the cultural studying, contrast and research on the usage and the classification of puns which appear in the front80chapters of the 《A Dream in Red Mansions》, then, concluding the methods and skills which are used in the process of translation, to mouse out how to highly display the including meaning of the original text, furthermore, enrich the translation theory and practice.
